I do think that seems to be a little bit differentiator. Then, you have opportunities to kind of share with other members and things like that but fundamentally it feels very similar to insurance for me. A lot of times, when you call Medi-Share, at the end of your phone call, they ask to pray with you for any needs you might have. Now, that said, there are a lot of aspects of it that I think kind of fall into that category. I do think that might be a little bit of a different thing. They make it really, really clear that it is not health insurance. It feels, in a lot of ways, just like health insurance, but, I mean, it’s not. I mean, even though … It’s kind of a gray area to define a little bit, but they function a lot like insurance. I mean, in our case …I wouldn’t classify them as a ministry. Every step of the way has been great.īob: Yeah. Wes: It’s rare that you find something … You know, usually, if it’s too good to be true, then it’s too good to be true, but this really ended up lining up with what we thought it would be, and it’s been incredible, honestly. We looked at the financial piece of it as well, on how much the cost was versus traditional healthcare, and insurance, but I think for us, it was more, there was a for-profit dynamic to insurance, where this really, as we pray, we saw this lined up with our convictions for what we see in the scripture, and it has really fulfilled what we thought it would be from the beginning. I know Medi-Share maybe has ministry in the name, but it really does feel more like a ministry than anything else.

I’m sure we’ll get into a lot of the different needs that we’ve had, but I mean, their name is Samaritan Ministries. I mean, I would say, on a scale of one to 10, probably a nine or a 10. Tell me, in general, how you have felt, and this is more of an overall feeling of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with Samaritan over that time. I’ve been with Medi-Share for nine years. How have you enjoyed it?īob: All right, so Wes and I both get asked a whole bunch of questions about our experiences, his with Samaritan, mine with Medi-Share, and we’re just going to go through a list of these questions, and go from there.īob: All right, so first off, you said you’d been with Samaritan for six years. If you like good worship music, you should definitely check it out. They just recorded this really cool EP called Into the Unknown. They are actually on tour right now, so you should go check them out. If you haven’t been here, you should come to visit, because everybody’s a musician.īob: At church, I ran into Wes, and Wes and his wife are musicians. I moved to Nashville, and every single person in Nashville is a musician. We’re going to share our experience with both of them, and compare and contrast.īob: Wes is a good friend. Wes, my good friend here, has been with Samaritan for how many years?īob: Six years. I am a Medi-Share member and have been for nine years. Although it's not (yet) supporting the iPhone X design, it SHOULD work as some of our developers tested the phone on their X's before we sent it to the App Store.Bob Lotich: All right, in this video, we’re going to talk about Samaritan Ministries and Medi-Share.
MEDI SHARE UPDATE
Since the time you wrote this we pushed another update out. Would you mind emailing with the name of the provider and we'll see if we can ensure it shows up in the result set moving forward? PHCS sends us monthly updates to the data so hopefully this next pass would include that facility/provider.Īlso, sorry for the crashing - that's not okay :(. The second time I launched it, it immediately crashed on my iPhone X. I have updated the app, and it crashed right when I tried to pull up the card. Hoping that this app improves, as it appears the design is simple and user friendly. I also searched under a radiology facility with no names and it returned nothing in my town, when in fact the above mentioned provider was one.

I could not find a specific provider either place, and finally had to call PHCS to confirm that the provider is in-network. Also the search provider function isn’t working well on the app or the website. I am a new member as well and can not access my card, as it instantly crashes. I uninstalled and re-installed the app to no avail. Crashes Constantly - poor search functionality
